Babies will get their very first bath while still in the hospital by experienced hands, but once home, the baby is reliant on mum and dad.
Bathing baby for the first time could make a brand new mom and dad nervous. I was still having severe pain from the cesarean birth, so my mom handled all the newborn bathing. Lucky me! 
Newborns babies don’t really get very dirty. Other than the nappy area, the only mess that newborns produce may be from spitting up. So, my mom only bathed Izzah lightly with warm water.
No soap, just plain warm water. But, she cried as soon as her skin got wet.
